Introduction

In America today our middle class is being battered by globalization and technology; our K-12 public education system is broken; and our universities are saddling our youth with mounds of debt for degrees that do not enable them to compete in the global marketplace; our national debt, at $15.4 trillion, is approximately $50,000 per person, or $200,000 for a household of four.

These four primary problems are different from all others with which our country is faced, in that they threaten the quality of life of the American individual as well as America’s greatness and position in the world.  In order to solve these primary problems, we the people of the United States, must unite in recognizing and agreeing that these are foundational problems that must be solved and that all efforts to solve them must be given priority and that said efforts must be bold, for these problems cannot be solved by nibbling around the edges.   Furthermore, solutions to these problems, at least initially, should be solutions which are philosophically non-partisan.

In this book I shall attempt to elucidate these 4 primary problems and propose potential solutions.  In doing so, it is the ultimate goal of this book to get all Americans to put aside the petty issues that we argue about day in and day out, and fully engage in the conversation regarding the solution to these 4 primary problems.  I believe that our country’s effectiveness in solving these problems will drastically affect our future.  If you agree, then at home and at work, with your friends and with your family, engage in the conversation and solutions to these 4 primary problems facing our country today.
